M.ARCH. JULIO A. ARCO ALCORTA
Graduated as an Architect from Tecnológico de Monterrey (Monterrey, México) and certified in Urban Design by Lorenzo de´ Medici University (Florence, Italy). As a graduate, worked as a freelance designer and architect for two years. Upon being accepted by McGill University (Montreal, Canada), he suspended his practice to pursue his Master's Degree in Urban Design and Housing.
While attending his Master's degree, he focused his thesis on research on how to design spaces based on principles of evidence-based design. This evidence is produced by professionals in areas other than architecture and design, such as psychologists, sociologists, physicians, among others. This led him to understand architecture as an environment that is constantly sending signals and affecting the user in different ways, understanding that there is more than just designing along with trends, but rather every detail should be considered to achieve the greatest harmony, well-being, including an attractive design through these principles.
From his personal experience, studies, and professional research, he concluded that not only architectural design, if not all object, form, texture and color within a space, is architecture. Everything has an impact on how the environment is perceived and experienced.
